Valuing Your Time and Energy by Susie Sands
Everything we do in life involves Energy. We put out Energy through our exchanges, and we receive Energy through our exchanges. How do you value your output of Energy? What does it mean for you to have an energetic balance and exchange?
Exchanges can come in many forms. We can feel fulfilled by a heartfelt exchange with a person/group, we can feel fulfilled through a financial exchange for work exerted or brought forth, and we can also feel full simply from the act of giving. It is important when doing any kind of work that we find a harmonious balance within ourselves to all that we are giving and all that we are receiving.
Specifically in the healing space, it is so important that we know and feel the true value of all that we are offering. Your practice might be focused on one modality or a variety of different modalities. Whatever it is that you are working with, it is your unique alchemy that you are ultimately offering in your exchanges.
Recently I have been put through a multitude of energetic exchange “exercises”. This has come through in many different forms. Weekly I have people ask if I am willing to give a sound bath for free to their community. The requests vary from organizations like: hospitals, synagogues, outpatient facilities, local events and more. It has dropped into my awareness that I am not obligated to say yes to everyone, AND that it is in fact part of my work to discern where and when I want to offer my services for free. It should not be expected or required that one shows up for free just because the work is needed. We know we are needed at this time! It is so important and necessary that we show up right now in the places in which our hearts are called. Our light wants to shine bright, and the Universe is supporting us for this task. We are meant to be sharing with many, this does not mean for free!
It is an essential time to know our value, our worth, and to know that it is okay to ask for a monetary exchange. Yes there will be times when one works for free, or for a small exchange, but just remember your Energy output and input when you consider where you show up for no financial exchange or a discounted exchange. The work that we do starts well before a session begins. There is Energy spent preparing for the sessions; our routines, self care practices and Energy hygiene that keep us clear and prepared for the work that we do. Value all that you are doing to vibrate higher so that you can be the beacon of light in the community spaces, corporations, classrooms, hospitals, studios, wherever you are going with your work!
To tune in I invite you to spend some time in your heart space feeling into the frequency of your value.
Each scenario will resonate differently for you, trust what comes through, and go out there and ask for it! When you decide on your value and what it is that you would like to earn for a certain exchange, hold strong in your heart what you believe and know to be your truth. In some cases this will mean walking away or even not hearing back from an organization. This is okay! When you are embodied in your work and in your heart, there is a frequency you are sending out. If a place resonates with your value they will find a way to meet you on your terms. Small to large organizations have money they could shift from other budgets to value your time working with them! Your value is non-negotiable. When we value ourselves, others will value us too! Know your worth, and the frequency will be met with kindness and gratitude for all the work that you are doing.
